Mission Statement
The mission of the Central Indiana Junior Golf Association is to provide a means to promote junior golf in Central Indiana. The perpetual goal will be carried out through top quality tournaments, clinics, and other items found to be relevant in our mission to promote golf throughout our Central Indiana communities.
About CIJGA
The Central Indiana Junior Golf Association was an idea of a group of area golf professionals who saw a need for competitive events for the youth of central Indiana. Their purpose of banding together was to promote the future of the game of a lifetime.
The game of golf is unique in that it puts the player not only in competition with other players, but also challenges the player to be able to control the many mental and emotional skills within. The player must be able to win his or her own mental battle in order to win against other players. This process is what the game is all about.
While there is now an arena for our youth to participate in, they will quickly learn that there are no short cuts to being competitive. Only hard work, dedication, and a desire to be the best will insure a player’s success as they develop their skills. They must be able to deal with the ever-changing course conditions on a daily basis – adaptability is a must for all champions.
As our juniors learn the skills to be an accomplished player, they will also learn many other skills which will carry over to their future careers. Honesty, fair play, integrity, hard work, perseverance are just but a few of the important lessons that the game of golf will teach them.
The Central Indiana Junior Golf Association is proud to be the catalyst for the lessons that the great game of golf will teach our area youth.
